British Chain Travelodge Expands In Spain With New Hotel Near Málaga Airport - Simply Shuttles

The Oxfordshire-based company Travelodge operates more than 600 hotels across the United Kingdom and Ireland. It has gone on to expand its portfolio recently by acquiring five further hotels — including a site in the Costa del Sol tourism hotspot of Málaga.

All five of these new Travelodge hotels were bought from Louvre Hotels Group. What used to be the Campanile on Málaga’s Avenida de Velázquez has been renamed Travelodge Málaga Aeropuerto — three-star accommodation lying just two minutes away from Málaga Airport.

An exciting new milestone in Travelodge’s Spanish journey

The new hotel houses 114 rooms, two meeting rooms, and a restaurant, with car parking also available onsite. Travelodge Málaga Aeropuerto is also within 10 minutes’ travelling distance of the city centre and the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga conference and exhibition centre.

Travelodge already owned six hotels in Spain before adding the new hotels — including in Alicante Puerto, Barcelona del Vallès, Madrid Alcalá de Henares, and Murcia — to its tally.

What can you expect when you stay at the new Málaga hotel?

If you do embark on a holiday to Málaga, you might not need to check into your hotel straight away. You might, for example, want to spend some time at a nearby beach first — one strong incentive for you to book one of our Málaga Airport transfers well in advance.

Of course, something else that you should book sufficiently ahead of time is a room at Travelodge Málaga Aeropuerto. Twin rooms and double rooms are available, each equipped with Wi-Fi Internet access (which comes free of charge if you book on the Travelodge.es website).

Making an online reservation in this way will also entitle you to an early check-in from 12pm (subject to availability), as well as a special price for buffet breakfast. Regardless of how you reserve your room, you will also be able to bring your pet along (a surcharge of €20 applies per stay).

Meanwhile, the in-room amenities (no matter which type of room you opt for) include air conditioning, heating, a telephone, a desk, a wardrobe, and a flatscreen TV. Each room also gives occupants ready access to a private bathroom fitted out with a large shower or bathtub.

You can also request a number of extras at reception. These options include a hairdryer, an iron, an ironing board, and a coffee/tea service. However, we urge you to plan ahead for your trip, such as by arranging Málaga Airport transfers courtesy of Simply Shuttles’ friendly and skilled drivers.

To take advantage of our private hire transfers, please feel free to book on our website today, or to call +34 951 279 117 for further advice and information.

High Court Rescinds Purchase Of £32.5m Mansion Due To Seller’s Fraudulent Misrepresentation - Portner

The High Court has ruled in favour of buyers who sought rescission and damages for fraudulent misrepresentation in their purchase of a £32.5m million mansion in Notting Hill. Partner Daniel Broughton examines the decision in Patarkatsishvili and another v Woodward-Fisher [2025] EWHC 265 (Ch), which underscores the vital importance of giving honest disclosures to enquiries in property transactions. Background Iya Patarkatsishvili and her husband, Dr Yevhen Hunyak, purchased Horbury Villa, a Victorian mansion in Notting Hill, from developer Mr William Woodward-Fisher for £32.5m in May 2019. Shortly after moving in, they discovered a severe infestation of clothes moths that had not been apparent during pre-contract inspections. Investigations revealed that the infestation originated from woollen insulation installed during renovations between 2012 and 2013. Pre-contract enquiries and misrepresentations Before the sale, Mr Woodward-Fisher responded to standard pre-contra...

Two-Year Rule On Lease Extensions To Be Removed In January – Portner

The government has announced that from January, leaseholders will have the right to buy their freehold or extend their lease without having to wait two years from when they bought the property. Partner Daniel Broughton examines what this and other reforms the government has promised to accelerate this year mean for leaseholders. At the end of last year, Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook confirmed the government’s plans for implementing the Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 (“LAFRA”). In a formal written statement, he promised to “balance speed with care if we are to ensure that the measures brought into force are to the lasting benefit of leaseholders and residential freeholders”. Two-year rule and leaseholder rights One of the main provisions under LAFRA is section 27, which will remove the two-year ownership rule before a leaseholder can extend their lease or buy the freehold of a long leasehold house. Although Matthew Pennycook said this would come into force i...

Local Authorities Given New Powers To Auction Empty Shops In Bid To Revitalise High Streets - Portner

The government has granted power to local authorities to “breathe new life back into high streets and transform long-term empty shops”. High Street Rental Auctions (HSRAs) will enable local authorities to tackle persistently vacant properties by putting empty shop leases up for auction. Partner Mitchell Griver examines the new proposals. The government says UK high streets have been neglected for too long, resulting in one in seven high street shops currently being closed. It has committed to “revitalise town centres and bring thriving high streets back for good”. Under new rules that came into force on 2 December 2024, councils will be able to step in and auction one-to-five-year leases of “qualifying high street premises” that have been empty for more than 365 days in the previous two years. Qualifying high-street premises “Qualifying high-street premises” are premises the local authority considers suitable for “high-street use” situated in a designated high street o...
